Even most free market advocates don’t quite understand what inflation is and how destructive it is on so many different levels. Far from being an esoteric economic topic, its something that everyone needs to deeply understand. The lack of understanding of inflation's profound destructive power is certainly one of the reasons the federal government and all authoritarian regimes have pursued inflationary policies throughout history.
